Newton, MA – July 16, 2018 – Jim Quigley, a Founder and CEO, Wealth Advisor at Barrington Wealth Management, in Chicago has been announced as one of three national finalists for the Global Impact Award as part of the twelfth annual Invest in Others Awards. Quigley is being honored for his work with Hope’s In, which will receive a $5,000 donation from the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. If Quigley wins his category, the donation will increase to $25,000.

The Invest in Others Awards program recognizes the charitable work of financial advisors and financial services firms in communities across the country and around the world. Advisors are nominated by their peers for actively giving back to non-profits to improve their communities and make a difference in the lives of others. There are five award categories for advisors and two for financial services companies.

Invest in Others received hundreds of nominations this year. Individual finalists were selected based on their leadership, dedication, contribution, inspiration, and impact on a non-profit and the community it serves.

In 2006, Jim Quigley and his family journeyed to Guatemala, where they inadvertently joined a group building playgrounds for local school children. Jim and his family found the service so moving and enjoyable, they continued to volunteer abroad annually and started inviting friends along for the experience. Six years later, Jim’s family formalized their passion for international service when his daughters founded Hope’s In, a nonprofit that empowers families living in the Guatemala City garbage dump communities as well as develop the next generation of humanitarian leadership. The organization partners with local Guatemalan organizations to build homes, sponsor elementary school classrooms and run medical clinics in impoverished neighborhoods.

Jim’s commitment to Hope’s In has been unwavering since 2012. In addition to covering many startup and operational expenses, Jim has played an active role in fostering community relationships, connecting Hope’s In with businesses, donors, and volunteer groups. Jim continues to volunteer on service trips every year which have resulted in 29 homes being built that house 175 Guatemalan people. For Jim, each trip is life changing and something significant is always learned.

Awards will be presented at the twelfth annual Invest in Others Awards Gala, a premier event attended by nearly 800 financial advisors and financial services executives, on September 27, 2018 in Boston, MA.
